Late last year Rangel came under attack for not knowing he should have claimed
property he owned in the Dominican Republic. It’s hard to believe the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, a group of politicians in charge of the United States tax code, didn’t know he should claim this on his taxes. All this coming from a man who once called Sarah Palin “disabled”?
My question is simple. How is it that a congressman makes this much money? How is it, a man who writes the tax code, didn’t know? How is it this man isn’t in jail? I’m all for Capitalism and would never criticize someone for making money. I do have problem with an elected official getting rich off my money. I have a problem with an elected official not being held to the same standards as myself.
